My picks from the week of May 04

The Audition from mrshow_fan
The Audition (04:05)
Why I love it:
How would you rank the greatest sketch shows of all time? SNL, Monty Python, Kids in the Hall, Human Giant, In Living Color, Mr. Show, Tim and Eric...? Here's proof Mr. Show is one of the best.

My picks from the week of March 30

Elevator from TheBasics
Elevator (02:23)
Why I love it:
How did I miss this one? I did the Groundlings in LA and this is from Second City in Chicago. Is there a rivalry? No. I'm not twelve, but this piece made me laugh. Plus it is as filthy a video as you'll find which is one of the joys of the internet.

My picks from the week of March 23

Hollywood Tales w/ Richard Jenkins: Witches of Eastwick from Richard Jenkins
Hollywood Tales w/ Richard Jenkins: W... (01:29)
Why I love it:
Richard Jenkins is in Step Brothers with me and John C Reilly and Mary Steenbergen and let me tell you, Richie brings it. Here's a taste of that Rhode Island Jenkins goodness.

My picks from the week of March 16

THE FOOT FIST WAY TRAILER - restricted red band trailer from socaliscorpio
THE FOOT FIST WAY TRAILER - restricte... (02:26)
Why I love it:
McKay and I saw this movie a year ago and couldn't shut up about it. It's become a cult classic among comics like Patton Oswalt, Jonah Hill and Judd... Danny McBride makes me laugh hard.

MTV's Human Giant - Carpet Monkey from Human Giant
MTV's Human Giant - Carpet Monkey (01:49)

Holy shit...holy got damn shit. This is pure F'd up goodness.

My picks from the week of January 20

Everyday Normal Guy Rap Song from Jon Lajoie
Everyday Normal Guy Rap Song (03:37) English Video from Canada
Why I love it:
This video is hella funny (note: our marketing people said if I used the word "hella" we would double our monthly hit total. ) This and What's It Gonna Be play nightly by my bedside. Love when he talks about how he hurt his back. It's very hella.

My picks from the week of December 16

The Colbert Report Writers: Sorry, Internet from uploaderguy
The Colbert Report Writers: Sorry, I... (01:18)
Why I love it:
First off, WGA! WGA! Second off, this is funny as hell. Also nice to see Davey Cross popping up as the scab cat. (I in no way know David Cross well enough to call him "Davey" or even "D-Bomb." But hopefully he let's me get away with it.)

My picks from the week of November 18

Livin' 'Neath the law with Jack McBrayer: Episode 2 from Jack McBrayer
Livin' 'Neath the law with Jack McBra... (01:17)
Why I love it:
I've said it a million times. Lil' Jackie McBrayer has got heart. He's a scrapper. And he was born giving 150% percent. You may start your team with Michael Jordan or Stephen Hawking or Bill Clinton but guess what, my pick is Jackie McBrayer out of Gooseb

My picks from the week of October 07

HIGH-FIVE! from Almost Twins, Jake, Bob Turton, and Jack Packard
HIGH-FIVE! (02:03)
Why I love it:
A very simple premise done to the nines. I will always laugh at the inane action followed by the cocky staredown. Always. Almost Twins continues to deliver. Go back and watch Friday Night Nights again. Still funny.

My picks from the week of September 02

Weng Weng Rap from Weng Weng
Weng Weng Rap (05:06)
Why I love it:
You're back at school again, it's time to open your mind and grow. And while the door is open perhaps you'll let Weng Weng in. It's 60% to 65% likely you won't regret it.

My picks from the week of July 22

What's It Gonna Be? from Mike O'Connell and Dr. Ken
What's It Gonna Be? (02:16)
Why I love it:
I want to take a pill so this video always plays in my head. I had to combine the words awesome and tiger to describe how great it is: Tigawesomer.

Louis CK and a Child from ilikestuff
Louis CK and a Child (00:38)
Why I love it:
Louis CK is a delight. I wish this short were the opening scene of a four hour, 300 million dollar film.

Summer of Fear! from The Message
Summer of Fear! (01:16)
Why I love it:
love that the "dramatic take to camera prairie dog" appears in this. And what's with this group The Message? They should have a TV show. Or am I clueless and they already do?

My picks from the week of June 17

Become a Black Republican from The Message
Become a Black Republican (01:44)
Why I love it:
Smart and funny. And I love the ending where the guy no longer cares about being cool with other blacks and he chucks the basketball.

Cars from Bobby Hacker
Cars (01:36)
Why I love it:
This is just a big bowl of screwed up funny stuff. Some might find it disturbing and loud. I, however, find it disturbing and loud.

The Proposal from picnicface
The Proposal (00:49)
Why I love it:
Frickin Picnicface just cranks out the goods. I love the tag from the creepy guy about what his plans are.

My picks from the week of May 27

Near Death Experiences from picnicface
Near Death Experiences (03:29)
Why I love it:
Love the build and reveal. And oh what a horrifying reveal it is. I've had two near death visions and both involved Merlin Olson

Powerthirst from picnicface
Powerthirst (01:23)
Why I love it:
Love this one. Especially "kickin’ Mother Nature with your power legs." With production value this would have been a good SNL ad parody.

My picks from the week of May 13

Mike Kalinsky from Dave Horwitz
Mike Kalinsky (02:58)
Why I love it:
Okay, this one is flawed but still pretty damn good. I wish so badly they had done the whole thing on just a single of Mike Kalinsky looking at the camera. Might have been my favorite of all time. Also, I wish they didn't have him talk in such a silly voi

Wicked Games from Almost Twins, Dan, and Jake
Wicked Games (01:40)
Why I love it:
It's Almost Twins again. These are the guys who did Friday Night Nights. And this one's also really good. Maybe I relate to it too much. I've was sexually harassed by a Sony 24p DV camera for two months. It was ugly and it's good to know there's others ou

The Last Patriot from Doug Cox
The Last Patriot (03:01)
Why I love it:
I love the framed dirty "yellow" alert shirt he wore for a year. Also like him just looking at a squirell for a beat with no one around him. You know this character is having a hard go of it but thinks he's got it all figured out.

Zombie-American Chapter One from Ed Helms
Zombie-American Chapter One (03:02)
Why I love it:
One of the best pieces we've had yet. There's two more chapters and I'm happy about that. I like Ed Helms. Whenever we meet there's crazy chemistry. Not quite gay but really damn close.
