  • - editor “MAYBE THE PROBLEM IS YOU!!!” (pulls out Dessert Eagle point five o)
  • Gotta love it!
  • If this editor had been a little more collaborative, even fake-collaborative, the producer might come 'round. There is a skill to changing the temperature of the room, but this editor sits there, docile, allowing the situation to spin in circles. There is a skill to coming up with a good idea but letting the producer think she thought of it. There is a skill to enthusiastically slotting in a generic SFX when, really, any decent SFX would do, and saying wow that made a big difference or great now we are getting closer to making it work. And when a producer says, eleventh hour, we need to start all over again, the editor should say, YES, YES, a re-build should only take another 4-5 hours and then we'll NAIL IT, lets GO!... and usually producer will say, whoa, no I didnt mean a that, just tweak what you have. I've been there.
  • Funny and scary i wear that shirt once a week and im working in that building now.
  • Oh boy... been there =) hilarious!
  • Oh, this is SO familiar as a situation !
  • lol. i go through this everyday.
  • I've been guilty of this... once or twice.
  • Why did no one thank Albert Brooks ("Modern Romance") for the inspiration?? (And boy, am I glad I'm not part of that universe anymore.)
  • Do insane producers like this really exist? If i I ever spent this much time one sound effect, I would expect the editor to turn around and tell me to make up my GD mind. She should be canned or find another line of work that allows her to be this incompetent.. It's funny, I DO miss this the TV biz and enjoyed almost every minute of my 10 year career. I got to work with some AWESOME collaborative editors who for the most part, didn't want to murder me. :)
  • ...and in the end the first choice would of worked just fine!
  • I've had my fair share of nutty producers, and the call home to the kids certainly strikes a cord.
  • My life.
  • he he an oldie but goodie thanks Simon
