I agree with the sentiment that the Republican party is corrupt due in part to its affiliation with the Christian right and big business, but to believe blindly that the Democrats are pure and have the American public's best interest at heart is simple naivete. Instead of running on the adrenaline of electing the country's first black president and letting the freeflowing emotion of the mob make your decisions for you, try thinking as individuals. Interest groups and lobbyists from all sides will be the downfall of this country. Only individuals who have the courage to exercise their rights as such in accordance with the Constitution-which slowly seems to be losing its value-have the power to stop that from happening. Attaching your ideals to a political party or a single leader is no more enlightened than blind faith in religious doctrine.
