  • The problem is your confusing increasing productivity through division of labour with farm subsidies which are a regulatory issue. It is worth noting that Australia and New Zealand have a thriving agricultural industry without agricultural subsidies.

  • Also there is no link between High Fructose Corn Syrup and obesity, sugar beat production is subsidized directly and through tariffs, and ethanol is a response to over production of corn. Ethanol makes fuel more expensive, hurts meat production, and makes food more expensive.

A great documentary that goes into a lot of the detail that is the topic of this parody is: Corn King. Worth a watch for those who watched this parody and thought - huh? And "Food, Inc."
