30 Days for a Million Voices
The issues the people of Burma/Myanmar are struggling with have been present for some time, since the military dictatorship took power and began a policy of isolationism, forced labor, systematic rape, political
imprisonment, and destroying villages (creating more than 1 million refugees in the process.) On May 1, three days before the cyclone, the US Campaign for Burma, Human Rights Action Center and Fanista.com launched Burma: It Can't Wait - a campaign using celebrity voices like Will Ferrell, Jennifer Aniston, Sarah Silverman, and Eddie Izzard to shine a light on the junta's actions. You can see the new videos each day, as well as make a donation to support the cyclone relief efforts, at http://www.burmaitcantwait.org. « less
