Kevin Bacon: Hello, I'm Kevin Bacon.
Welcome to The Actor on Acting.
Kevin Bacon: People ask me all the time,
"So how did you learn how to act?
Who did you study with?"
Kevin Bacon: And I always tell
them the same thing.
Kevin Bacon: I studied with Professor Nobody.
Heard of him?
Robin Long: I'm a little nervous,
but excited to have access
to Kevin's genius.
Anthony Gioe: Yeah, I mean
Mr. Bacon is an icon.
Anthony Gioe: To have an opportunity to do
scene work with him is amazing.
Kevin Bacon: Okay, let's forget about technique.
Kevin Bacon: You want to be an actor?
You gotta look like an actor.
Kevin Bacon: We're talking, ripped jeans,
Kevin Bacon: sunglasses, toothpick,
scarf, infinity scarf,
Kevin Bacon: square scarf, pashmina,
Kevin Bacon: Accessories make actor.
Kevin Bacon: Nice and easy.
Kevin Bacon: Yeah. Yeah.
Kevin Bacon: Alright, okay, that's enough of that.
Lets just run the scene.
Anthony Gioe: You want answers?
Robin Long: I think I'm entitled to.
-You want answers!
-I want the truth!
Anthony Gioe: You can't handle the truth.
Kevin Bacon: [Kevin]: Cut. Cut. Cut.
Kevin Bacon: Okay, alright...
That was... that was decent.
Kevin Bacon: Rich, hey,
what's up with the hair?
Anthony Gioe: Oh, is there something wrong?
Kevin Bacon: Well, it just could be cooler.
Kevin Bacon: Look, one of the most
important decisions you're ever
going to make as an actor
Kevin Bacon: is what kind of
hair product you use.
Kevin Bacon: Gel, paste, styling moose.
Kevin Bacon: And if your hair is starting
to thin then brother, you may not
be cut out to be an actor.
Kevin Bacon: Alright?
Kevin Bacon: Hey, lets talk about jewelry.
Kevin Bacon: Always, more rings than fingers.
Kevin Bacon: And necklaces...
Question how many necklaces does
Johnny Depp wear?
-Wrong. 15. Minimum.
Kevin Bacon: And the line, by the way is
"You can't handle it Ruth."
Anthony Gioe: I don't... Is it?
Kevin Bacon: Yeah, it is.
I was in the movie.
Kevin Bacon: I might've been in this scene.
I don't remember.
Kevin Bacon: Yeah, one of the toughest
parts about being an actor is learning
all the lines, but here's a tip
Kevin Bacon: when you get a script,
don't learn every single line,
Kevin Bacon: just learn the lines
that your character says.
Kevin Bacon: You're welcome.
Kevin Bacon: Let's give it another shot.
Kevin Bacon: Remember,
everything depends on this.
Kevin Bacon: And, acting.
-You want answers?
-I think I'm entitled to.
-You want answers?
-I want the truth.
You can't handle it Ruth!
Kevin Bacon: Cut. Okay, that was... better.
Kevin Bacon: Uh, something is still not right.
Kevin Bacon: Hey, can somebody give
me my motorcycle helmet?
Kevin Bacon: Thanks.
-You want us to run it again?
Kevin Bacon: Uh...
Kevin Bacon: Other arm.
Kevin Bacon: Okay, very cool.
Kevin Bacon: Yeah, that's good acting.
Kevin Bacon: I mean you see that right?
Kevin Bacon: At a certain point in
your career you want to start
Kevin Bacon: because this is going
to make you look smarter,
and more sophisticated.
Kevin Bacon: That's when you're
going to start getting offered
more serious roles.
Kevin Bacon: Partly because people
are going to realize that you're
able to stretch.
Kevin Bacon: That's how I got Hollow Man.
Kevin Bacon: Glasses.
