Somewhat naïve and in love with her audiences, Laurie leaves people laughing as they step into her misunderstandings and quirky observations about menopause, age, weight, physical flaws, her husband Marvin, her parents and so much more. Laurie grew up in LA and her father, a song writer, played the piano and ukulele. A few years ago, Laurie took up the ukulele to write parodies for her act. In any case, it was a hobby which kept her from driving around medicated.
In Spokane, Washington Laurie was the goofy wife that did the “Good Morning” wake-up series for KXLY News. She also did voice-overs for Spokane Civic theatre.
Laurie was chosen out of hundreds of comics to do Charity event for 94.3 “The Love Doctors” aired live in Florida: raising money to help needy children. She has been on several radio stations-Home Grown Radio, GA, WPBR in Fl., and many other’s where she has permeated the airwaves with her hilarious parodies.
When she moved to South Florida, she got work doing dinner theatre and writing her own material became an everyday passion. In the middle of a hot flash, crazy thoughts developed into pursuing stand-up comedy. Laurie has performed comedy as a Feature and been Master of Ceremony in Los Angeles at: HaHa Café, Hallenbeck’s, Rainbow Room and Corporate Functions. In South Florida the following groups have been singing along with Laurie and laughing at her passionate outbursts: Broward General Hospital, Women’s luncheons, Banker’s Club, Biltmore, Ritz Carlton, Country Clubs, Condos,Fundraisers, Private parties.
Laurie has featured and opened for Marc Price,Skippy of “Family Ties”, Michael Winslow of “Police Academy” fame, JJ Walker, John Rathbone, Julie Scoggins, Ben Kurland, Derek Richards, Big Baby, Tom Drake, Steven Moore, “Kid” Dave Miller, Dennis Ross, Ron Feingold, , Randy Lubas, Leo Dufour, Al Aprill, Bruce Smirnoff, Al Romero, April Macie and many other’s in clubs all over the USA. Also, interviewed for Last Comic Standing in Miami, Florida - An extra perk was a radio interview with ESPN affiliate 1350 Sports Radio in Waycross, GA. The response was so good she is invited to do another interview when she is back in town! You can see Laurie in clubs touring the USA or book her for a party or corporate function. She lives and drives her husband crazy in South Florida. Also, she was a guest with “Skippy” from Family Ties on WPBR 1340am West Palm Beach, Florida-World Wide Radio.
Laurie has also won contests at the Improv Comedy Club, NYCC and writing contests as well. You can hear Laurie on XM Satellite Radio - XM 150 and XM 151.
