This 'pilot' was produced as part of The Loft Cinema's 48-Hour Movie Spoof Spectacular in June of 2010.
We were assigned "Pee-wee's Big Adventure" to spoof, and the film is pretty much impossible to parody (it does it to itself, and it does it well!). So, rather than throw some idiot in a Pee-wee costume and perform a terrible impersonation, we decided to use this opportunity to work on another project... and throw in some Pee-wee flavor while we were at it.
This plays as a proof-of-concept for a web series we'd like to do. It runs a bit quicker than it's meant to, but there are reasons for that, too (our portable LED lights for night shooting died without warning and would only work for 5 seconds at a time!).
Overall, this came out pretty well. Let us know what you think! « less
