It was a cold September night in 1992 when Brian finished the late shift at AMMP (the Animal Mask Manufacturing Plant). The torn leather seats in his beige El Camino were a welcome retreat after standing in the assembly line for the last 7 hours. While tuning into his favorite talk radio station, Brian noticed a stew of menacing clouds and sheet lightning in the distance. There was a storm brewing, and it looked to be headed his way.
Little did Brian know that fate, and extreme irony were about to cold-cock him in the face.
As he made his way onto the highway, Brian had to work the steering wheel to counter the wind gusts poking at his car. He turned up the volume on his radio to listen in to the host describing the symptoms of chlamydia. Just then, a bolt of lightning hit Brian's El Camino and sent it barreling into the ditch and thundering down the hill. Brian was thrown 385 feet and landed near a small pond. Lucky to be alive he was awoken the next morning by the tender sandpaper-like tongue of a young deer sucking his index finger and staring him in the eye. Startled and confused Brian crawled to the edge of the water to splash water on his face. When he looked down to the water though, he realized that his face and life would never be the same. « less
