PuppetFingers is “The Office meets Sesame Street” in this parody of low-budget children’s television. Sam Waters, children's television agent, guides his primary clients Tom and Francie through the creation of their new show, 'Accepting Everyone Through Music. In candid-camera style, we watch Sam maneuver through Tom's painful past, advising this pair of relentlessly chirpy has-beens through their least flattering moments; preparing a comeback for which no one is clamoring. Selling their return as a “journey to bring us back to the American children”, Tom and Francie struggle with the demons of their old show “The Flower Shop”, which was taken off the air twelve years earlier. Forced to ignore Tom’s obsession with Jim Henson, and Francie’s dream to teach “normal, everyday, non-talented children” how to sing and dance, Sam's unconventional methods create an environment that reminds us that Children’s Television isn’t dirty, it just smells funny. « less
