it sounds like you were in an uncomfortable situation and you just ran but you didn't want to cuss him out so that was the best you could do at the time but the cashier probably wouldn't have taken offense if you had reminded him that you were in a hurry like say he asked you if you liked that item you could say actually i like them all but i am in a hurry or something like that i don't know i would have just let him talk about every item but thats because im a passive person
I'm a mother of children with special needs and no, I don't think you're an anushole LOL. I would think if anything, it was a poor choice of job placement from the Managers this store. It not only frustrates the customers, but also could lead to potential conflict/ frustration /Confrontation for the person with special needs as many customers are not so patient as yourself.
