This is a special features interview with Dave Rabbit, the acknowledged Godfather of Pirate Radio. Dave Rabbit did three tours in Vietnam from 1968 to 1971. In 1971, he wanted to do something for the front line troops WITHOUT CENSORSHIP and CREATED Radio First Termer. His 21 Pirate Radio Broadcasts were done from a Whore House in Downtown Saigon, Vietnam from January 1 to January 21, 1971 and were broadcasted LIVE throughout Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos. These shows contained HARD ACID ROCK MUSIC, GI HUMOR and POLITICAL ANTI-WAR COMMENTS about the issues of the times which, of course, were SEX, DRUGS, ROCK and ROLL and getting OUT OF VIETNAM. These shows were created for the entertainment of the troops that put their lives on the line EVERY DAY in Vietnam and who were part of the huge Anti-War movement which was happening within the ranks of the military itself against the war in Vietnam. Dave SHUT DOWN at 11 p.m. on January 21, 1971 to prevent GETTING CAUGHT, as there was tremendous pressure on those that were protecting him and his associates. On July 11th 2007, Dave Rabbit, Johnny Anonymous and AboveTopSecret.Com created and launched a new worldwide show called the ATS MIX. WARNING: This inteview contains original material from one of the Saigon Shows. Listener Discretion Is STRONGLY ADVISED. < less
