Description: In 1983 Rekers was on the founding board of the Family Research Council, a non-profit Christian lobbying organization, along with James Dobson and Armand Nicholi Jr.[3] In May 2010, the Miami New Times reported allegations that Rekers hired a travel assistant who was a male prostitute.[4] The prostitute asserted he believed Rekers was homosexual, remarking that "In all honesty, [Rekers] should disassociate himself from these [anti-gay] groups.
