When Amanda (Regina) and I (Bernie) auditioned for our roles, we immediately clicked like if we were a real married couple. We kept eye contact and feed off each other's energy. We have never met before that day. We have never rehearsed prior to that audition nor participated in an acting workshop together. I say this, because a number of our fellow thespians thought we may have worked together before. Sometimes, we actors, find an acting partner who is willing to receive what we offer and then we receive back more than what we gave. It's magical! Being in the moment, being truthful to the words, the feeling, and the honest reactions of one's acting partner makes a scene worth being. Our audiences are quite sophisticated and can tell whether a moment is real or not. We, the actors, owe them the truth. Thank you, Amanda!

Hey Buttermilk, Thanks for your comments. Actually, Armando Versace (the actor) AND Bernie Alegria (the character) are both from Puerto Rico. So…It’s an authentic Puerto Rican accent. The original character I created was supposed to be Mexican, but when I met Armando, I changed it to Puerto Rican. Take care.
