You are missing the point caskey. The point is, because these characters are not original in the least, the sketch already seems familiar, and feels tired. I liken this to the character Cedric the Entertainer played in the Barbershop movies. You can almost predict what the character(s) are going to say before they say it. So, if you are going to play a character that is far from groundbreaking, you need to really crush it or knock it out of the park or it will fall flat, as I feel these ladies do. Casting directors often tell me, if you come into audition for a Broadway musical, and you sing “on my own,” from Les Miserables (like everyone else does), if you don’t nail it like it’s never been nailed before, they are going to tune you out.
