San Francisco, 1942 - backstage at the High Jinx Burlesque Club. Readying to go on stage, the girls stop to observe a slight discrepancy only to find out they're the ones being observed. A Theatre Unleashed Original! "Pin-Up Girls" follows a troupe of San Francisco burlesque dancers as they encounter the new-found freedom American women discovered during World War II, forcing them to reshape traditional gender roles for good. It is a play that finds inspiration in the classic screw ball comedies of Frank Capra and Howard Hawkes, and yet lives as a piece of entertainment all to itself. Writer/director Andrew Moore harnesses the music and style of the time to capture the sexy world of burlesque, creating not just a show, but an entertainment experience like no other! « less
