There’s definitely a need for marketing in the world just like we need oil companies. They’re a major part of the US economy, but you have to admit they’re still pretty fucking evil. All they think about is fucking profits. Hicks nailed it.

If you can really watch Bill Hicks in 2007-08 and not laugh or understand, it’s time to re-examine your priorities. If you understand the joke, and truly don’t think it is funny, fine. But if you tuned off right when he said “marketing people kill yourself,” you are probably missing a lot of punchlines in comedy and in life. And, unfortunately, chances are that many of these punchlines are at people like you or at your expense. Laugh at yourself and quit taking life so seriously. Come on…telling a comedian he should kill himself for a joke he tells.
