Raccoons: intelligent, aggressive, nocturnal, semi-prehensile front paws. Great climbers, not good jumpers. May carry ROUNDWORM PARASITES, DISTEMPER or PARVO VIRUS. / Temporary groups are mother & kits (babies). / Males are territorial and solitary. / In captivity proper care is high maintenance or health & behavior problems will develop. Naturally tenacious & curious they can be very destructive & may inflict serious bites. / If you have a wild raccoon problem contact your state's Department of Natural Resources for advice from a knowledgeable wildlife rehabilitation volunteer.
