A jolt at first; I watched this show, “Combat” w/Vic Morrow, as a gradeschooler just figuring out the “real” and “unreal” of television, like 5,6 yrs. old. I worried about Vic M., I thought about he & his men in between shows. It was heavy for a first-grader; kind of haunted me. I am released.
Combat – The show that established two long overlooked facts: a) WWII was won by an endless stream of 40-something PFCs, and , b) France, Belgium and Germany are filled with eucalyptus trees, and all look suspiciously like Griffith Park and Franklin Canyon.
Which was it…The Gallant Men or Combat ?
