You are in the jungles and rice paddies of Vietnam. Your best friend is dry socks and your M-16. Your average age is 19, High School educated and scared as hell. On January 1, 1971 you are listening to AFVN and someone cuts in and tells you about a new underground radio show called Radio First Termer, which is broadcasting out of a whorehouse in Downtown Saigon. You switch over and start to listen. Unlike AFVN, they are playing great rock and roll, making fun of the idiots who have sent you there and coming up with all kinds of off the wall humor that, just for the 3 hours they are on the air, makes you forget about all the death and destruction that you have seen that day.
This is a segment piece of the bits and gags from the only surviving show of the 21 shows broadcasted. It has been passed on from GI to GI over the past 37 years which has a conservative worldwide fan base of 23 million.
Sit back and flashback to Saigon in 1971. A time of protest in the United States as well as in Vietnam. « less
