[Female #1]: Bravo.
Well, since we're lucky
enough to have the director here,
I think I'm just going to open it
up to questions from the audience.
-First off, transcendent film.
-Thank you so much.
I was just thinking about the deliberate
choices that you made in the shot selection for this film.
That made me think about the
choices that I have to make in my life.
do you think I should quit my job?
I just got an offer for another job,
but the commute is longer.
-Uh, is it a better job?
-Not at all.
Thank you. If we could just
keep this to questions about the film.
Oh you, Miss.
First of all, I'm a huge fan of your work.
I chose your first film as a
subject of my thesis in film school.
Oh, thank you so much.
I've noticed that the characters you write
are more complex than you usually see in films of this genre.
It just really made me think
about all the complexities and
nuances of interpersonal
communication and all facets of life.
And I'm just wondering,
if I texted a guy I went
out with last night 12 hours later,
does that make me seem desperate?
Like who has the upper hand?
Is it still me?
Uh... I'm sorry,
can this be about the film?
What do you think your lead
character would do if he hadn't texted back,
and they had a really fun time last night?
I don't think I could--
Also, if she added a
very tastefully placed emojis,
so it was just like flirty and light hearted.
Uh, okay... I'm going to stop you there.
Next question. Yeah, you, sir.
If I block somebody on Facebook,
can they still see my profile pic--
Stop. Do you guys realize
that he has won multiple Academy
awards as well as the
Man Booker Prize for his last novel?
Okay, so, with that in mind,
does anyone have a
question about the film we just saw?
Yeah, yeah you in the back.
[timidly] Hi, hi.
I just wanted to tell you
that it was your films that got me
through one of those difficult times in my life.
You see, my mother, she's very ill,
and as she slipped into
the coma that she is currently in...
[weeping] I'm so sorry.
It was... It was your last film... I'm sorry.
It was your last film...
It was your last film that helped me
to understand my own feelings on mortality.
That's truly the reason I do what I do.
Thank you for saying that.
Yeah, I mean, do you think I
should just pull the plug on the bitch, or...
