Description: Dan Molson's a bit depressed these days. Some might say he's down on his luck but Dan says luck is for pussies. He'd be more comfortable saying that things just suck right now. He was just laid off work at the plant and now he has to bring the news home to his four kids and his wife - as long as she isn't busy swooning over her sexy corporate boss, T.J. Dan and his family live in the sleepy town of Brockville, Ontario, where the main cultural attractions include weekly karaoke nights and the annual "ribfest." It's the kind of place where everyone knows everyone's cousin's ex-wife. With the town in the midst of a mayoral election, Dan finally decides to take a risk and begin a campaign for city hall. ELECT DAN MOLSON will follow Dan as his bright blue collar explodes onto the semi-polished world of small town mayoral politics. He doesn't own a suit, hasn't been to school and has a very hard time pronouncing the world "mayoral," but he is ready to put everything he has behind his campaign. His campaign is managed by a crack squad of political gurus - ie. other guys who got laid off when he did. "Big Ben" manages the campaign, while virgin-boyscout Pete oversees the fine details of the campaign, like keeping Dan's kids on task making campaign posters. This docu-comedy series follows Dan for each step of his campaign. Step one - actually get on the ballot by getting 200 nominations from "enlightened" townspeople.
