Blood-O-Ween screened as a "Work In Progress" at a couple film festivals back in 2006, it was also an official selection of the Comic-Con International Independent Film Festival as an "unfinished work in progress.”
However, a couple weeks after the comic-con screening, the hard drive (the only drive) that carried the entire film, crashed...100's and 100's of hours of hard work, laughs, blood, sweat, tears and screams were all gone. The film was lost and was not able to get a proper film festival run. The editing, color correction, music, etc, were never finished. The thought of re-editing the entire film was daunting…it was the end for Blood-O-Ween…
Only recently (last year to be exact) we were inspired to start over and re-load the 10 hours of raw Mini DV footage into the computer and re-edit the film from scratch. We felt this film needed to be seen, it needed a chance, it needed an audience and it needed a final cut!
So we buckled down and put another 100+ hours of work into editing, finalizing the color, music, etc and finished a Final Cut this last September for an official 2013 release! Albeit it’s a lot of work for only a 32 min short film, but we are proud of it, we definitely feel that it is a cult classic waiting to be discovered!
