Hello, I am Griffin Meyer.
And I am Mitch Malecki.
And we are the 2 top film students in the Alabama film program.
This is the official Alabama Alpha Phi recruitment video of 2015.
And we are the damn boogers that shot it.
We've been getting a lot of flack,
people saying that we're sexist,
people saying that we're racist,
and we're here to clear the air
and say that we are in fact none of those things.
And today we're going to do a little
commentary for you, and
give you the inside scoop.
Here we go, it's the classic push-in shot
We got the classic opening of the doors
letting them into your
soul, and letting them into their minds.
This was a stinky day, because
this is why the girl's arms were up.
It is very hot in Alabama right now. It's the summer.
Now here go.
Here is the bubble
shot which I will take credit for.
The bubbles were my idea,
and I feel like it really said a lot about the film.
I know that there has been a lot of
hubbub about this stuff,
but it's not a big deal. We were just
riffin' goofs, and they
were laughing and just sort of
cooperating with us.
We weren't making them do anything.
Just be real, they were just having fun,
and we were also there.
This just looks like a bunch of
great, smart, educated
women, all happen to be blonde.
I understand how that looks.
It's the aesthetic. It's sort of the
country relaxed, sort of fun girl vibe.
There's a brunette right there.
Front and center and you're
saying no diversity. I see 1, 2, 3, 4, brunettes.
Women, they look great in slow mo' don't they?
There's some glitter.
We got the classic glitter shot.
Love a good glitter shot.
They love glitter too.
Women they go ape shit for that shit.
I swear to God, I whipped out some
glitter on the shoot, and
these chicks went fucking nuts.
You give them some popsicles and some
glitter, damn, they are going to cooperate.
And glitter was also bought from a
Mexican man at a local establishment.
Here we go. These are honestly--
Quick cuts, that
came in during the edit. We hadn't
thought of that during the day.
There's a flag shot, and that is a
little movie magic right there my friends.
That's with a drone, we call it.
We are pro drone by the way,
for fun use, and also the government.
Also pro bono. We did this video for free.
We did. We would love to get paid though, soon.
A little camera magic there.
With the cool swoop edit.
The girls waving as if to say
come on in, no matter who you are,
or what race, or sex. It is all
women. No men allowed.
Women like football. Shows you
right there, that we are not sexist.
Women can be around sports.
And here's our buddy Darius.
There's the crux of it all ain't it haters?
And honestly, to all the haters out
there that said that this is a racist
video with no diversity. Go F yourself, because I see
a man right there who has dark colored skin.
What do you see? Are you guys blind?
I see 1, 2, 3, 4 brunettes, 1 black man.
There's more glitter shots.
Like I said, obviously more glitter.
Now we're getting into the more sexy shots.
A lot of fast cuts. Tootsie roll.
There's some jiggle there.
That's fine. That's what you're going to get.
That's what people wear when they go in the water.
Those are just natural curves.
They are going to wear what they
wear in the water.
Well educated, free thinking woman,
who read books, and are not racists. Okay, they are wild stallions out there.
Oh there's Christina. I gave her a lot of screen time, because her
father lent us the drone.
Thanks a lot Christina.
Okay, and we are about to cut to black.
Notice I said black, not white.
You never fade to white.
Film-edit, Griffin Meyer.
You know what? I got to pub crawl here. We gotta get outta here.
Let's turn this thing off.
That things off?
I am going to call Christina up,
and I'm going to say, I'm going to
get my drone and do a bit of a bone drone.
Take her to the bone drone.
And what I'm going to do,
I'm going to set up the drone, and I'm
going to bone her.
