Adam Mckay: Hi, Adam Mckay here from the set of my new movie called
Lassie Vengeance is Mine. As you all know social media, and the internet,
is constantly evolving. 8 years ago when we started Funny or Die we were
aware of that, so we want to be apart of the next generation of social media.
So I am proud to announce our newest venture, it's called Dips.
Dips will be an interactive video sharing platform that will be a
second and a half. We found that a second and a half is the optimal
amount of time for creativity, communication, and sharing. So we went and secured a loan
for $80 million dollars, and we set up this platform, and today it is launching.
We have a lot of guest Dippers today. Right now I would like to introduce
one my favorite people the brilliant director of Boyhood, Mr. Richard Linklater.
Richard Linklater: Hi, I'm Richard Linklater. Boyhood documented one
family story over the course of 12 years, and well, some people said that I
changed entertainment, and cinematic
storytelling forever, but I didn't. Once I saw what Will, Adam, and the Funny or Die
people were doing with 1.5 second videos I realized that's the future. That's
inventive storytelling. That's poignant, that's life, and that's why I am proud
to be one of the founding members of Dips.
And I'm proud to introduce to you the man behind the curtain our angel
investor Mark Cuban.
Mark Cuban: I pioneered streaming video on the internet, and I'm proud to
say that Dips pushed the boundaries of video beyond anything I've ever imagined
in my wildest dreams. What the world wants is content that can be consumed in
a blink of an eye. Leonardo Da Vinci once said, a masterpiece can happen in a moment.
Well Dips are your masterpiece. It's the world's masterpiece.
It's the intersection of art and science, and together we can change
the world one dip at a time, but that's not enough, that's all talk.
Let us all start Dipping,
