And it's way more sad than it is funny; don't you understand that this person's mind may inhabit the state that it's in for the remainder of his life? Sorry if audience members were unamused, or if the counselmen/women were disturbed, but they had either a bad moment (former) or a bad evening (latter.) He's having a bad life.
