A humor book by Adam Chromy & Jill Morris (The Onion), with Johnny McNulty (The Onion). In Stores. On Kindle.
About the book: It is the best and (as of press time) only handbook for an all-out employee revolution. The fuel of this revolution comes from the reader-submitted posts of the popular blog PleaseFireMe.com the favorite outlet for people trapped in bad jobs to anonymously vent. As the site says: "Submit if you can't quit."
This book takes that venting and encourages the reader to get angry, laugh, and ultimately rise up against the current regime of 'malemployment.'
Packed with laugh-out-loud segments, Please Fire Me: Posts from the Revolting Workplace generates an original and clever written response, graph, or illustration to every complaint imaginable.
Although it's a humor book, it tackles important issues plaguing our nation's workforce: the psychology of why unpleasant and incompetent people consistently get promoted; the poor economy exposing many employees to more work for the same pay and benefits; the particular complaints of the lady worker; the deteriorating work environment; unbearable co-workers; and, of course, it wouldn't be right to not mention the soulsuckers who are always right—customers.
Please Fire Me is for anyone who's ever had a shitty job and, more importantly, it's for everyone who has one now and wants to rise up and shout. « less
