The problem here is that people fail to see nuance in an argument because they choose to want sound bites. So it is easy to take a piece out of context and use it how you wish.

The fact is that Bush and McCain have done more to limit gun rights through the patriot act thatn Democrats ever could have wanted or even got away with. During Katrina a private "security force" Blackwater went door to door taking peoples guns away. They walked the streets with machine guns and bullet proof vests and Dark common sunglasses as if New Orleans were the Green-zone. This was not a liberal attempt at gun control. This was martial law being declared over a region with crippling success by neo-conservative contractors. This is documented fact that one can research easily through mainstream media sources.
