Brilliant, absolutely brilliant. I have had these situations where I try to explain to someone that they're being led down a path that takes us away from the issues that are dividing and eating away at our country - by the mainstream media. They look at me like I'm some kind of crazy person. It's not hard to see either. Any semi-intelligent person such as myself (I'm only semi-intelligent) can see the willful efforts of organizations such as Fox News. It's easy to see them try to de-focus our attention from things like a false war, erosion of the rights that our forefathers wanted us to have. Also..... jobs leaving the country in droves, the ultra-rich getting richer exponentially while the middle-class are being driven into the streets by rediculous loan offers like that of a loan-shark, making them lose everything they ever worked for; and the poor population growing exponentially in numbers at the same rate the rich are getting richer. PHEW! In the top storys, Fox News will mention some unimportant fact about the war (MAYBE), and then IMMEDIATLEY switch gears to something like Paris Hilton's slutty behavior. They know we like to see train wrecks,they know sometimes these things throw our focus off of the serious, sobering stuff we need to listen to. So they give celebrity bullshit in-place of something that might justify our thoughts that this nation has almost (but not completely, there's still hope) been HIJACKED by people who do NOT want to give up power, and want to get richer by means of oil and cheap labor. The world is a dangerous place now, gone is the time right after WWII, when America was the world power, and nothing could touch us. We were prosperous, safe, and we tusted each other. Even the Cold War wasn't as bad as it is today, at least we could go about our lives then, not being afrais someone will come at any time and take away our rights for things. Oh, we STILL ARE the world power, but our citizens are in great danger from the very people that are trying to get seriously rich. Money Money Money. They are doing everything they can to make their maney-making projects a GLOBAL thing, collectiong money not just from their country's consumers, but every consumer in the world. And they are using cheap labor to do it, taking away ALL the jobs here in the States. They don't care about poeple becoming poorer and poorer, because they will have so much money, nothing could touch them. As long as these certain few who are the most powerful and rich in the country, as long as their friends and family are rich beyond comprehension, they don't give a DAMNM about anyone else. They are running this country into the ground, they belive in their fairy-tale minds that jJudgement Day is coming soon, "so lets just hoard everything and fuck everyone else".....I'm serious, that's how the Bush's think, and thr Cheney's too. They belive it will all end within a hundred years, so they don't care about setting up the country to be safe and prosperous for generations to come. They simply don't believe the world will be here by then........ The damage done will take decades to fix, if at all fixable. And the media is backing the whole thing. Just ask yourself one day WHY Brittany Spears is so damn important, that she has to take presidence over issues like the war and our economy, on the nightly news. People --- stuff like that should be talked about at the very end of any news show - if at all. The problems our country faces should be the top news stories, always. For example, if you were to head a family meeting to go over what problems are facing your family and how to solve them - would you then talk about Lindsy Lohan's mother after the first topic, before the next topic which would have been family finaces? NO! You WOULDN'T!! Well, thats what our media does - throw in junk when all we really want is to get a damn grip on the problems, so we can FIX THEM. We can't fix them if we don't know the deatails!! And they know that. The media tries hard to keep our minds off of fixing things or holdoing crooks responsible, for it might mean that we slow down our spending on the crap their ADVERTISERS throw at us. They want us to be oblivious, and to concentrate instead on just how many Hot-Pockets we need to buy today. If we're thinking about fixing the country, we might be OCCUPIED and engaged, losing weight because we're busy doing something important, and not sitting around eating junk food and buyiong pay-per-view movies. Oh yes, they WANT us to be oblivious. ...........I love this video, I love how he makes fun of the diversionary tactics of the media. If it's not for their advertisers, I wonder why they try to divert us from the real issues - they're not part of the executive branch --- ARE THEY???
