Just another example of what ignorant people can accomplish when they hijack the language. The Catholic Church refused to recognize divorce for many years(still??) and "good" Catholics were not allowed to remarry in the Church if they were civilly divorced. The fundamentalists can do the same with the word "marriage" if they choose: But they do NOT have the right to redefine the word so that it differs from the long-accepted plain meaning. Sooner or later they will lose this war, but perhaps not until they start becoming educated.
