Always the wedding singer, sometimes the bridesmaid and never the bride, Andrea is attending her 25th consecutive wedding – minus, as usual, a plus one. This time she’s back down south in Memphis, her childhood hometown, to celebrate the nuptials of an old friend. Trapped in the same reception hall where countless boys rejected her during the excruciating Bar/Bat Mitzvah parties of her past, Andrea spends the evening begging the band leader to find the music – inexplicably misplaced – for the only song that fits both the bride’s “must play list” and Andrea’s vocal range, desperately dodging constant queries by family friends about her “glamorous Hollywood life” and “mind-boggling” single status and evading the unwelcome advances of a surprise set up. If only she could grab a tray of mini potato latkes and disappear behind the Absolut shot bar!
