Ryan and Adam get fired from Knocked Up

Alright, so, from what I have seen, this is a pretty popular parody. I’ve heard alot about it, so much in fact, that I thought that I’d give it a look-see. And to be quite honest, I am just a bit disappointed.

Now, wait, let me explain. The script is funny, and the way that Judd Apatow is played as a arrogant jackass is actually pretty friggin’ hilarious. The one thing that dimmed this video’s quality was the acting talent of the two guys Adam and Ryan.

When they are performing as their “Knocked Up” characters, their choppy, reading-out-loud presentation of the lines works; it’s obviously supposed to be that way. But then, when they begin to speak to Judd, they don’t come out of it. They continue to spout their dialogue mechanically, causing me to question whether or not these two actors can actually call themselves “actors”... I don’t know, maybe they had an off-day, or maybe those two guys just suck at this sort of thing. I don’t know them, but I do hope that they improve their weak points and begin to produce more impressive material.

My personal opinion: Great script, and the character of Judd Apatow was bluntly, yet cleverly potrayed… Adam and Ryan, however, may need to improve their acting chops before setting off on another project …. I would rate this either the lowest grade of Walking Tall, or the highest grade of The Crypt; I really can’t decide which.
