The Republican National Committee spent about $150,000 on clothing, hair styling, makeup and other "campaign accessories" in September for the McCain campaign after Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin joined the ticket as his running mate. To put this in perspective, the median yearly household income in the United States is $45k. Palin’s clothes cost more than three times what Americans are making in one year.  Here are some other things that cost $150k:

3 Cadillacs

20 years of groceries for a family of four

375 iPhones

12 Healthcare plans for familes of four

7500 Children’s food kits through Mercy Corps

A 5-Acre farm with horse barn, spacious 2 story 3500 square foot home, 4 bedrooms and 3 baths in Mitchell, Indiana

30 Lasik eye surgery procedures

214 Hours with a prostitute in Nevada

250 30” Plasma TVs

120 Disney Dream vacations

15,000 911 Heroes Commemorative Plates

3300 Dinners at Outback Steakhouse

50,000 gallons of gas

4 Student’s Tuition and Fees for all four years of college

926 Season Tickets for the Los Angeles Lakers

4300 H&M dresses like the ones Michelle Obama wears

Nobody cares how much Obama or Clinton spent, because they bought their clothes themselves, with their own money.
