GUANTANAMO BAY, Cuba - Last month, Dayana Mendoza, Miss Universe, took a trip to Guantanamo Bay Naval Base in Cuba and ended up having the time of her life!

"It was a loooot of fun!" she wrote on her Miss Universe blog. "We had a wonderful time, this truly was a memorable trip!"* Yes, Miss Mendoza is talking about the controversial detention camp, but it's apparently a lot better than we all thought - it's like super cool, pretty, and fun!

From boat rides, to dog tricks, to hanging at the bar, "Gitmo" (as the cool kids refer to it) sounds like a regular Spring Break destination. There were souvenirs from the glass beach and unbelievable views of the water.

Summing up her visit to the site accused of illegal interrogations and false imprisonments Mendoza said,"I didn't want to leave, it was such a relaxing place, so calm and beautiful." Which is odd, because most people being detained at Gitmo don't want to be there at all.

*All quotes were actually said by Miss Universe, Dayana Mendoza

Well, their have been claims of "water boarding," which I'm pretty sure is the Cuban term for body boarding. How could that not be fun?

Also, I think we all saw the pictures of the residents stacked on top of each other in the pyramid formation. How could you not feel the spirit when cheerleading? Let's hear it!

I can understand why she wouldn't want to leave.... more >

I can understand why she wouldn't want to leave. Hell, if I were there, I may even forget to call or write home and let anyone know where I was.
