Memes as Glorious Works of Art
Gallery1988 turns 8 years old this month, which is pretty rare for an art gallery! They're celebrating the only way they know how: with a ridiculous group show. "Memes" opens May 4th, and has over 100 artists creating artwork based on the Internet's best inside jokes. The show won't be online until Saturday May 5th on www.gallery1988.com, but here's a preview of what you'll see. Consequences will never be the same!

- Just plain dumb.
- you said it Dave
- So many corkscrews but no wine!!! Where's the wine!!!
- If there was more it might of been funnier. I seen some good "I LIED" and "ME Gusta" paintings/
- I liked (and understood) most of them. I'd even buy that Ariel one on a t-shirt, but there were some that I was really confused about.
- Double Rainbow was definitely my favorite.
- The Ariel one needs to get made into a t-shirt by Threadless.
- thats funny
- Brilliant initiative!
- Good but not as fuuny as http://www.funnyordie.com/videos/0ed1c4cadb/lost-robots
- I recognize HoneyBadgerDon'tGiveAShit and NyanCat in last one, but who's the guy and the birds? Guess that meme missed me!
- It's not "art". It's shit. Not creative at all.
- It was Insanity Wolf not Courage Wolf, get your memes straight.
- Dear Catastrophe Waitress - good album.
- any one else catch the Shepard Fairey joke on the insanity wolf one?
- Hipster Ariel DOES need to be on a T-shirt.....I'd so buy it.
