PANTHER COUNTY GOES PURPLE

It's a historic day, y'all. We had a tie in the Presidential Election voting in Panther County. 50% for McCain, 50% for Obama. So guess that makes us purple. And Florida ended up blue for the first time in forever.
Here's the thing. We're all Americans. We're all in the same economic row boat, no matter whether you live in Panther Glen and temporarily lost half of your stock value OR you live on Roy Ray's street and are fighting off foreclosure. If we look at our bank accounts as half empty and believe doom's day is on the horizon...well, then we might as well get our survival gear and flee to the woods. BUT if we look at the reality of this crisis with the old Panther County can-do attitude...yes, we can survive this and we will.
Fear drove the stock market into the sewer. Hope can drive us out of the ditch. Stop watching the bad news on the TV set and start asking what you can personally do to lift America...your hometown...your neighbor...your family...yourself out of this black hole.
There's a reason for everything. Today it may be hard to see anything positive coming out of the U.S. Economic Crisis...but it will. We need to come together as a nation with a common cause and free ourselves from the quagmire of this financial emergency.
I believe we can. Do you?
Oh, and congratulations to Sen. McCain for his gracious concession speech. And a big cheer for our next president of the U.S. of A., Barak Obama.
God bless America.

OBAMA IN PANTHER COUNTY

Hope everyone is going out to vote today...or already voted early. We're having record turn out at the polls in Panther County. Yee-haw. It's goin' to be interesting to see if our county (which always voted for Democrats until the 80s) will go back to the blue side. Barak Obama was in town yesterday. By town...I mean the big city about 30 minutes away from Main Street Panther County. I went to see what the buzz was.
I'll have to say, I never seen so many rednecks and black folk all together singing and clapping and crying together. It was a massive turnout...probably 10,000 people. That's more than lives in all of Panther County. And when Obama appeared seemingly out of thin air...the house went wild. It brings tears to my eyes to think about it.
So no matter who you support for president...get out and vote. And let's hope all our votes are actually counted. God bless America, y'all.

WE'RE BACK!

OMG. New Zealand was on another planet. At least it feels like we've been on the shuttle coming home. Hours and hours of travel, but well worth the journey. What a gorgeous place NZ is! I want to thank every one of you who have been checking out the blog while we were gone AND a big "think cue" to each special friend who took time to reply to the blog. Your messages gave me a much-needed connection to our FOD community. Mum LOVED the messages for her 90th birthday and all your love made her feel like a star!! (Which she is, of course.) Now back down to the video grind. I've got some amazing footage waiting for me on Final Cut and hope I can do the Dance Thurapy "Footloose" webisodes justice. Big love to you all. Sharon
