"LONG-HAUL" Moby-Dick re-re-told from scott r johnston

"LONG-HAUL" Moby-Dick re-re-told (9:59)

Herman Melville wrote the classic tale "Moby-Dick" and Ray Bradbury and John Huston wrote the screenplay of "Moby-Dick" (re-told). Well, I've never read those, but I am an obsessed film fan of the Huston epic. So I decided to create "Moby-Dick" re-re-told aka "LONG-HAUL" the tale as it was meant to be told - in the spirit of a comedy and an adventure in the supernatural. This film was made for an unmentionable budget (don't ask how little). The cast was paid in beer, and we couldn't afford that. it is based loosely on the time i spent as a furniture-mover in Philly with Mambo Movers and with Tonka Moving, where I would often comment that "movers are the modern-day pirates, onl... more >

This is the first of 3 parts, so I hope you catch the next two chapters. < less

"Long-Haul" Moby-Dick (re-re-told) chapter 2 from scott r johnston

"Long-Haul" Moby-Dick (re-re-told) chapter 2 (9:56)

chapter two: 'the moving life' our spunky lass Ish finds herself swept up in the adventure of furniture-moving with the proud moving men of Bedford Movers (number 1 in Fishtown). but what is the terrible destiny these men are moving towards? Only Crew-chief Abraham knows. "while its true that Long-Haul starts as a (deadpan) comedy it becomes a horror film with a morbid sense of humor (and hopefully still true to its riffing on Moby-Dick) the warehouse this was shot in was rumored to be haunted. the whaler has been in a few legit films, before getting over-hauled with ice.

"Long-Haul" Moby-Dick re-re-told chapter 3 from scott r johnston

"Long-Haul" Moby-Dick re-re-told chapter 3 (9:40)

chapter 3 "when the blood hits the ice" in this the darkest chapter, the 'humor' takes a backseat to tragedy. "the whaler has an archaic perpetual motion engine, once you turn it on, you can't turn it off"
