Los Angeles City Council President, Eric Garcetti vowed today to use any means necessary to find the Goldstar National Nutcracker Award, “The Nutty,” and the person responsible for its disappearance late last week. On December 9th, a lone thief broke into the Pasadena-based Goldstar offices and stole “The Nutty.” Surveillance video, released earlier today, shows the perpetrator overtaking two highly-trained security professionals in his quest for the gold statue. Neither guard was reported injured in the incident. In a stern video statement, Los Angeles City Council President Eric Garcetti warns the subject, “Don’t make this ugly. Turn yourself in now.” He also cautioned, “Angelenos reject Grinch attitude, Grinch ways, and the spreading of Grinchness around.” Meanwhile, from his vacation home in Whoville, Goldstar CEO Jim McCarthy assured the public that the Third-Annual Goldstar National Nutcracker Award will go on as scheduled with the winner being announced on December 22nd. The Goldstar National Nutcracker Award annually honors the best loved Nutcracker production throughout the land as voted by Goldstar members.
