My story is not earth-shattering, but it was so special to me. I am dating a man that has been through a very painful experience for a few years. He has recently gotten back into the contemporary Christian music ministry and has been trying to get back on track. Very gifted, he has recorded in Nashville, but he still struggles with self-confidence and fear In May 2006, I attended one of my boyfriend’s concerts which was held outdoors. The stage was set up across the street from where other activities were located. People were listening to the music, but they were continuing to shop and eat,”

From here we needed some poetic license :

I wondered why they weren’t paying attention and then I realized the tuba my lover way blowing wasn’t very loud, it seemed blocked. During a break I approached him and he seemed out of breath and his face was red. I had seen him blow many times before and never appeared this fatigued. I was concerned that he was having heart troubles so I had him sit down and take deep breaths. I wondered if the problem could be with the instrument. I went over to the large organ of Jesus and flipped it over. Nothing seemed amiss and so I reached my hand inside to check for obstruction. I was shocked to feel what seemed to be a head of hair. I assumed some child had misplaced a doll there when we were at the Carnival of Christ the previous day. I struggled to pull the onject from the tube, ending up with only a handfull of wool at first. My arm could barely fit into the deep recess of the curved cavity so I had my now recovered lover blow from the front. I could hear air wizzing by and told him to blow harder. I heard the air pitch getting lower as if more was getting by the obstruction. I encouraged him to blow even harder, I think it is loosening I yelled. With all of his might he took in a deep long breath and blew that tuba like it was a brazilian shemale and I could see something coming up through the tube. Slow at first, as if it was a reluctant gopher leaving its hole on the first day of spring. As his lungs continued to push I saw the head coming…I reached my hand in to help it along and was shocked to feel it was mushy. After coaxing it along I felt empowered like a midwife, helping this doll out of its entrapment. I braced a foot on either side of the tubas opening and reached in with both hands, arching my back and stiffening my legs. I pulled on the hair and flesh, I asked the Lord ” give me the strength of a lion!!!!!” and with that I pulled the obstruction loose and fell back with it on my chest. My sign of relief was interupted by the screams of my lover, then of the cymbal player, the triangle ringer and the majorettes. I rose my head up from the ground to realize that the cause of the stifled turbines was not a childs doll, but the lifeless body of a baby. As I held her in my arms I could only wish I would have known her…her name…so from that day on when I hear the angelic notes streaming from the tuba I think of her, my precious Melody
