more >Benjamin Dickerson is a multi-disciplinary digital artist. His work often addresses issues representation, artifact created through hypermedia and transitory humanity. After graduating from the Ontario College of Art and Design (OCAD, Toronto, ON, CA) Benjamin continued working in film, as the first assisting editor, title designer, online editor (Making of Featurettes, TV Spots) and web artist/social network developer for the feature documentary SHARKWATER. As well as working as a teaching assistant at OCAD.
His most recent film (Lindsay the Alchemist) is currently being screened in film festivals throughout North America, it's most recent appearance at the 20th Annual Images Festival, in Toronto, Ontario, Canada this April. And was the recipient of the award for "Best Canadian Mid-Length Drama" from the Calgary Fringe Festival, also the Trinity Square, William F. Whites and Exclusive Lab Prizes for excellence in film/video all in 2006. Benjamin will be looking to further extend the films audience at festivals throughout Europe in the coming months. < less

A little explanation... OCAD stands for the Ontario College of Art and Design, it's located in Toronto Ontario, it's an art school and this is art school karioke.
The show itself was a three night performance and broadcast gallery based installation featuring a live audience and a plethora of performances with 4 judges in a live jurying scenario. It features a lot of retardedly elabourate word play and comedic exploitations of stereotypes and "sacred" subject matter. Nothing was really off limits. I know that description makes me sound like a douche, but it's true.
