Michael James Nelson

Michael James Nelson is a comedy writer and performer working out of Los Angeles and New York. He’s written for many different television programs from the “MTV Movie Awards” to “Betty White’s Off Their Rockers” on NBC. Writing for these shows has given Michael the opportunity to work with Will Ferrell, Brad Pit, Chris Rock, Jonah Hill, Channing Tatum, Betty White, Adam Sandler, Seth Rogen, Jason Bateman, Danny McBride, Jimmy Fallon, Melissa McCarthy and many others. Michael’s performing credits include writing and starring in a half-hour hidden camera show for CBS called “Jokes On You.” He’s also appeared on Will Ferrell and Adam McKay’s website “Funny or Die” alongside Don Cheadle, Ray Romano, Cedric “The Entertainer”, Rob Riggle and many others. In 2012, he performed in Comedy Central’s “Comics To Watch” showcase in Los Angeles. Michael trained in improvisation and sketch comedy at The Groundlings, IO West, and is an alumni of UCB’s advanced improvisation program. He also trained in comedic and dramatic acting at Stan Kirsch Studios in Los Angeles. Michael is performing stand-up, sketch, writing for various television shows and just optioned his first half-hour sitcom.
