Reason 1: Wouldn't the cannibals eat themselves first?
This is how the scenario playout in my mind:
Terminus resident 1: "Hey! Let us all work together to get people to believe that this place is sanctuary and trap those people and eat them!"
Terminus resident 2: "Why?"
Terminus resident 1: "So we all benefit!"
Terminus resident 2: "But we could just kill you and eat you and that it will be one less mouth to feed"
Terminust resident 1: "Well yeah I guess bu- WHAT ARE YOU DOING WITH THAT KNIFE? GAH!!!!"
Reason 2: It is kinda been there done that
Isn't the whole plot of the show is that these group of people try to survive the zombie apocalypse but not trying to get eaten by said zombies? "But now they are humans trying to eat other humans!" What kind of "If you can't beat them join them" type of attitude is that? Isn't the goal of running a tv show is that you wanna keep your audience entertained? And by doing so, wouldn't you have to be different and a little more creative? I don't think the cannibal plot line will come to fruition, that kind of stuff might fly in the comics but not an a television screen. Which brings me to my next point...
Reason 3: THIS ISN'T THE COMICS!!!
I understand that this whole entire show is based off of the graphic novels but this show has been pulling away from the source material for quite sometime. For the people who support the cannibal theory because that is what happens in the comics let me tell you something: If this show were to follow the comics Tyrese would've been part of the group since day one, The Governor would've been formally a janitor, and Judith would've been dead! Is that what you want? Do you want a dead Judith? I didn't think so. So I'm just saying pump the brakes on the whole cannibal because it may never leave the pages of your The Walking Dead graphic novels.
