9 Restaurants That Will Kill You
America likes to eat. Usually over eat. Check out these restaurants serving meals with enough calories and fat to last a week. It's about portion control people.
9. The Vortex Bar & Grill (Atlanta, GA)
The first step in taking your burger to the next level? Serve a 1.5 lb patty and replace the buns with two grilled cheese sandwiches. Pile on three fried eggs, four slices of cheese, and five slices of bacon and you have the âDouble Bypass Burgerâ at the Vortex Bar&Grill in Atlanta. Leave room for the side of tater tots. Leave time for the bathroom.
8. Country Pancake House (Ridgewood, NJ)
7. Dennyâs Beer Barrel Pub (Clearfield, PA)
The Ye Olde 96er at Dennyâs Beer Barrel Pub costs $24 and weighs nine pounds. It consists of six pounds of meat, two tomatoes, half a head of lettuce, twelve slices of cheese, a cup of peppers, two onions and a âriver of mayonnaise, ketchup, and mustardâ. Also an ocean of regret after you eat it.
6. Big Texan Steak Ranch (Amarillo, TX)
Big appetites come from Texas like at the Big Texan Steak Ranch in Amarillo where youâll find the 72-ounce steak. In case you canât convert fast enough, thatâs four and a half pounds of meat. Itâs a $50 meal, unless you finish it (and the side items: a salad, shrimp cocktail, roll, and potato) in an hour or less.
5. Jack-n-Grill (Denver, CO)
4. Ben and Jerryâs (Vermont)
The Vermonster is an ice cream monster. Even though itâs designed to feed four people, the contents is above and beyond regular dessert sizes. Inside the bucket youâll find twenty scoops of ice cream, four ladles of hot fudge, whipped cream, three cookies and four toppings of your choice. Anytime something is served in bucket, that's a red flag.
3. R. U. Hungry (New Brunswick, NJ)
An insane sandwich invented by a high college student at a sandwich stand in New Jersey is a consistent winner for sandwich of the year. Their fat sandwiches are served all night, but the Fat Darrell is the most disgusting, er, popular. Itâs got everything but the kitchen sink wrapped in a bun â chicken fingers, mozzerella sticks, marinara sauce, French fries, ketchup, and hamburgers.
2. The ChipShop (Brooklyn, NY)
1. Heart Attack Grill (Chandler, AZ)
The Heart Attack Grill makes no bones about what they are serving you by naming itâs burgers after cardiology procedures. The waitresses are dressed as nurses and the motto is âtaste worth dying forâ. They cook everything in lard and serve flatliner fries. You know what youâre getting into when you order the Quadruple Bypass Burger â 2 pounds of lard soaked beef. Itâs 8,000 calories. You better hope those are real nurses if you take this on.
