Karl & Bernie are at the center of a unique long-term filmmaking project-- a series of short films (eventually to be combined into a feature) entitled "The Adventures of Karl & Bernie". A collaboration between FILMS ON CONSIGNMENT, FIFTH COLUMN FILMS, and SPECIAL PRODUCTIONS, shot on the streets of New York City, these micro-budgeted, digital video short films feature Karl and Bernie, two regular guys who talk a lot but don’t do a helluva lot. Each of the Karl & Bernie shorts are shot in 1 to 2 days, with intimate casts and small crews (usually 2 to 3 people). The emphasis is on naturalistic acting and fast-paced, witty dialogue, combined with a Generation DIY aesthetic. < less
