I uploaded a video for the contest and it plays terribly. I have since used a different compression codec which I think will play better. How do I replace the current one if possible?

I am having the same problems. I shot in HD and have tried every compressing format and my video still looks terrible. MP4 really made it look bad. I shot in 1440 x 1080.

I noticed this is an old post. Any recommendations since then?

Our editors generally upload their content as encoded as 1280x720 MP4s with pretty high bitrates (> 10 mbits/s). I think the key to getting a good looking encode is to upload a video with the at least the minimum dimensions (640x360) and a good bitrate.

Unfortunately, we can't let users directly upload their own flvs -- we need to make sure they're going to work in our player, have our watermark and we also need to produce thumbnail images and mobile video files.
