Hi I am Jenice Matias a non union, energetic, spontaneous, Nuyorican borne in New York city I discovered my passion for the performing arts at Staten Island community College.I attended Brooklyn College where I studied dance and Acting I moved to New Jersey with my two daughters and attended Montclair State College Where I received two Bachelors of Arts, Dance Performance and Speech Arts /Dramatics, with a major in education along with several recognition, The who whose among united states colleges and university and Who whose among Hispanic Americans. I became an agent and founder for a non profit organization entitled Tropical delight in Action Theater and Dance Company whose mission is to promote multicultural awareness and communication through the performing Arts. The organization received In 2001 recipient of PCHCC awarded for excellence service to the community. After 20 years of service, I decided to pursue my passion and began my acting and dance career in New York city my credits are, receiving several dance scholarships , Broadway Dance Center, PMT Dance Studio and Roy Arias Dance Theater and Rableau Salsa Dance Company, I have trained in acting and voice technique, at HB Studios; under the tutelage of teachers such as Austin Pendleton, Amy Wright, Eric Michael Gillett and Dan Manjovi. Recently however, because of my training in longform and musical improv, at The Peoples Improv Theater, Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre and Magnet Theater, under the direction of legendary teachers as Armando Diaz, and Jeff Michalski I have made great advances in my career; leading me to book roles on shows such as Nurse Jackie, Law and Order and Two Two, in addition writing and performing my one person shows entitled “Pussinomics”, "I have no luck with men" and “I don’t Suffer from Insanity, I Enjoy Every Minute Of It”.
