YOUR ACTS FOR THE EVENING ARE...
The Headliner:
ANDREW LAWRENCE
The buzz about comedy’s best-kept-secret is fast making Andrew Lawrence a cult classic.
Andrew entered the world of stand up after receiving rave recognition in all the key new act competitions before making a huge impact at the Edinburgh Fringe Festivals. He is a regular favourite on the comedy circuit, gigging at all the major clubs across the country and building a base of discerning fans addicted to the bleakly dark comic world he creates.
Boasting a fiery crown of red hair and a deep, demonic voice, Lawrence’s fiendish persona is in complete allegiance with his material; it will shock you both in terms of content, and in terms of how much you will laugh.
WILL ANDREWS
Will Andrews is a fantastic stand-up, writer, performer, director, actor and all round genius. He started performing character stand-up in 2003 under the name Tony Carter and has since gone on to achieve multifaceted success in a very short space of time, including winning a BAFTA for his Channel 4 sketch show Comedy Lab BLOWOUT. He recently finished a Comedy Showcase for Channel 4 and is preparing his new show for Edinburgh 09 as well as recording the second series of SORRY I'VE GOT NO HEAD.
MARCEL LUCONT
Marcel Lucont is France's premier misanthropist and lover. A self-published, self-award winning author of several books, including his own European travelogue, 'Ménage À Cinq,' his account of loose executive women of London, 'Whores D'Oeuvre' and his L.A. travelogue, 'Diagnosis: Merde.' Marcel will be residing in London for as long as he is able to put up with your moaning.
JIMMY MCGHIE
A hotly-tipped new face on the comedy scene, Jimmy performs at comedy clubs up and down the country, to great acclaim. He began doing stand-up regularly in 2005, reaching the finals of the BBC New Talent competition and the Amused Moose Star Search.
Jimmy performed a split-bill stand-up show at the Edinburgh Festival in 2007 and again in 2008, receiving rave reviews. 2008 also saw the launch of his new material night, The Comedy Cellar, at the Edinburgh Festival. Due to its success it has relocated to London on alternate Monday nights, at BarKick in Shoreditch.
JASON KAVAN
“Jason has been performing stand-up comedy since November 2003. He is currently doing paid 20’s for clubs such as Rawhide in Liverpool, and various promoters across the country.
He has performed 3 solo hour Edinburgh shows and is getting regular 10’s at the Comedy Store, London. Jason has received the Edinburgh Fringe Sell-Out award for 2006 and 2008.
In 2007 Jason won BBC Asian Network’s Raw Joke competition and cam 2nd in 2007 Leicester Mercury Comedian of the Year (Jimmy Carr was once 2nd place too!)
Jason's first stage performance was as a young Prince of Siam at The London Palladium in The King & I with Yul Bryner and Virginia McKenna. He'd like to say he's done bigger shows than that since but… He's working on it.
NAT LUURTSEMA
Nat was a 2008 Chortle Best Newcomer Nominee after just eight months doing stand-up. In 2007 she was a finalist in both ‘Funny Women’ and the Laughing Horse’s ‘Big, Big New Act Competition’. In 2008 she reached the final of the Laughing Horse’s ‘New Act of the Year Competition’, and appeared as part of the Comedy Zone at the Edinburgh Festival. Nat is also an award-winning radio presenter, presenting and interviewing performers on Festival FM in Edinburgh for two years and on the Glastonbury Festival’s radio station for three years. Broadcast voted her one of the ‘Hotshot Writers of 2007’, while the London Paper featured her as one of the ‘Top 30 under 30’ talents to watch in 2008.
AND YOUR COMPERE... CARL DONNELLY
Carl started performing stand-up regularly in 2005 and quickly established himself as one of the most exciting new comics climbing the comedy ladder. Despite being a relative newcomer, his conversational style and silly sense of humour have seen him win a host of awards and become a regular act and MC at clubs all over the country (and the world having also performed in Singapore, The Netherlands and France among others).
“The reason why Donnelly is one of the highest-rated emerging stars on the UK circuit is his incredible ability to turn the seemingly mundane existence of the 21st-century slacker into gripping, unmissable stand-up. In Donnelly's hands, something as simple as getting out of bed can be the springboard to a hilarious anecdote” The Guardian

Hi guys,
I work for a television production company in London, called So Television (Graham Norton's company). We've recently launched a new online talent website called Noostar.
Noostar is a website for talented people to 'show the world', we’re essentially an online platform for people to promote themselves and their skills, focussing predominantly on music and comedy talent among other talents. Being a production company, this is a great door into TV and web exposure, and we are right behind the project pushing the right people to the world’s attention. I think you could really work on Noostar and love your tracks. We have no problem with you putting a direct link from your Noostar profile to your website and/or any other sites you're featured on and would like people to check out.
All you need to do is go to www.noostar.com and register a profile, uploading any photos and of course FOOTAGE. There's no limit to how many videos you can post too, so could be a great way to showcase all your material in one place. Noostar has a rolling and weekly chart, and shortly, whoever bags the weekly No. 1 slot will be featured in our advertising campaign that week (this is to be viewed by up to 10 million people).
It would be great to see some of you guys on there.
Thanks
Jason
