I am a filmmaker and film enthusiast. Ever since I was small, I have fallen in love with the characters in books and movies. I have always wanted to stay a part of their world forever. When I was about five years old, my mother had to take me to the theatre several times to finish watching Steven Spielberg’s E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial. When E.T. is found in the ditch, cold and sick, I became so distraught that it was necessary to haul me out of the theatre. But the film never let me be; somewhere in my five-year-old gut, I knew there was meaning to be found there, and that, despite the terrors that lurked, I needed to see it through to the end. Eventually, I did. And E.T. has never left me. “I’ll be right here,” he says, pointing to Elliot’s heart, but it was really my heart, and he was right.
