Mercedes Segesvary is a playwright, fine art illustrator and comedienne. Her play Alive and Well was featured as part of Metropolitan Playhouse's East Side Stories 2013 in New York. Her short play, “Room For Rent” won her a 2012 PlayGround San Francisco Emerging Playwright Award. In 2008 Mercedes brought to life a comedic retelling of a San Francisco Tour Guide’s life and received a Best of Fringe Award for her critically acclaimed performance. She is a first generation Hungarian American and her work often reflects the comedy and tragedy of the clashing of cultures, sexes and generations. Her fine art illustrations have received equal recognition and respect for their colorful depictions of humanity.
