“In a galaxy not too far from our own, there was a planet called ‘Tang Major’. On this planet there ruled a tyrannical fiend who enslaved and killed many of his own people. He was Emperor Tang, the Scourge of Vedo. He built up a massive and terrible army with the means of space travel. When he finally succeeded in wrecking civilizations on all the other planets and all had been conquered in the galaxy, he settled down on his own planet to take what he perceived to be a long deserved holiday in his summer palace. However, as he rested, a rebellion was about to begin, led by Emperor Bosko, who simply despised Tang. For decades Tang’s grip had been felt, tightening as he got older and more cynical. Bosko, however, finally completed and unleashed his newest weapon against Tang, a controllable field of gravity that’s powerful enough to work against any existing gravity. The weapon was a success, and the strange force began pulling Planet Tang Major toward the red-hot sun. Tang refused to listen to the scientists’ warnings and eventually had them all executed. His subjects began to abandon him more and more, until only his faithful bodyguard and cybernetic manservant Klytus stood by him. When Tang succumbed to the heat of the oncoming sun, it was Klytus that carried him to a tiny escape ship. They reached the planet Earth while in suspended sleep chambers on the ship. It crash-landed in a field just outside of Madison, Wisconsin. When the government showed up, Tang used his power ring to hypnotize the agents and he and Klytus made their escape to the nearby city.
